TREATING PETS LIKE A VALUED MEMBER OF THE FAMILY – 9th Avenue Animal Clinic.
The 9th Avenue Animal Clinic has been taking care of Calgary pets since 1941! The clinic is where you will find Dr. Joe Waldman and his team of professionals who are dedicated to keeping our dogs happy and healthy. Dr. Waldman is part owner of the clinic and has been a member of the team since 2002.
What inspires you to do what you do?
Dr. Joe: The easiest answer is to say that I am an animal lover but it’s a lot more than that. I love the way that our pets make us feel. There is nothing quite like the relationship people have with their pets and I’m honored and grateful that I get to be a part of that.
Finish the following sentence: “I believe that dogs are…..”
Dr. Joe: A part of the human experience. Humanity owes a tremendous debt of gratitude to this four-legged friend. Neither species would likely be on the planet if it weren’t for the other.
What is the best part of your job?
Dr. Joe: The best part of my job is the connections I make with my clients and my patients. In the 30 minute appointment, I get to be a friend, a counselor, a financial planner and when need be, a shoulder to cry on. And of course, I can’t forget that I get to be a doctor and help to keep my patients in good health.
If you were a dog, what breed would you be and why?
Dr. Joe: What I am is probably a Pug. A little bit lazy with a great appetite and a tendency to pack on a few extra pounds when I’m not careful. What I’d love to be is a Greyhound, athletic and graceful and somehow in spite of also being prone to laziness, still managing to keep a very handsome figure.
